In October, Dimitri Robert, 27, of Coram, was arrested after allegedly shooting and killing his 17-year-old brother, who was sitting inside a car. He’s currently being held at the Suffolk County Jail without bail on a second-degree murder charge.

His brother was pronounced dead at the scene by the Suffolk County Medical Examiner.

According to the Suffolk County Sheriff, it is alleged that on Friday, Nov. 22, Robert scooped liquid containing human waste from his cell toilet using a milk carton and threw the liquids at a correction officer who was passing by the cell conducting a security tour of the tier. The liquid hit the correction officer in his face, arm, and chest.

Robert continued to threaten correction staff and refused to follow orders and instructions, the Sheriff said. He barricaded himself in his cell behind his cell mattress and a blanket. He allegedly continued to be combative as he was forcibly removed from his cell, kicking and fighting with officers until he was restrained.

The Sheriff said that Robert had to be treated by a medical professional and continues to be held at the Suffolk County Jail. Additional charges are expected to be filed against Robert, who reportedly has a lengthy criminal history.
